On the land elections in North Rhine-Westphalia, the Christian Democratic Union led by Armin Lashat leads with a 33%.

This is evidenced by the first forecasts, reports "Deutsche Welle".

The Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) has 31.5%. These are the first forecasts, which became known immediately after the closure of polling stations.

The Liberal FDP receives 12.7%, Soyuz-90 / Green - 6.3%, the Left Party - 4.8% of the vote. The right-populist "Alternative for Germany" (AdG) - 7.3, the Pirate Party - 0.9%. Other parties gain in the amount of 3.5%.



Land elections in North Rhine-Westphalia are called "small general" or general rehearsal of voting on September 24, when in Germany the new Bundestag will be elected, and after that - the Chancellor.

As the Observer reported, Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel said that sanctions from the Russian Federation could be lifted, but only after the Kremlin fully implemented the agreements reached in Minsk.
