Head of US Relations Department of the DPRK Ministry of Foreign Affairs Cho Son Hye said that Pyongyang is ready for a dialogue with the US. She told journalists about this at the Beijing airport, the South Korean agency Yonhap reports on Saturday, May 13. According to the diplomat, the People's Republic "will hold a dialogue under suitable conditions". As noted, Cho Son Hee returned to Pyongyang from the Norwegian capital Oslo, where, along with the North Korean delegation, met with a group of American experts. On May 12, Pyongyang asked the countries of the world not to apply sanctions imposed by the UN Security Council against it.

Prior to this, the state-owned North Korean news agency TsTAC said that the policy of "state terrorism", which the US is conducting towards the DPRK, will turn for Washington "catastrophic consequences". The political situation around the Korean peninsula remains tense. US express dissatisfaction with Pyongyang's implementation of missile and nuclear programs. Earlier in Washington, it was stated that their strategy with regard to the DPRK was aimed at exerting pressure on Pyongyang by tightening sanctions - in order to force it to abandon these programs.
