The US Department of Justice was requesting bank data from the former head of the US presidential election headquarters, Donald Trump Paul Manafort, as part of an investigation into Russia's "interference" in the presidential elections.

According to sources from the Wall Street Journal, in mid-April, investigators requested Paul Manafort's banking data from Citizens Financial Group. However, it is not specified whether similar requests were sent to other banks and whether they received summonses to the court.

In addition, other sources of the newspaper reported that the New York City Prosecutor's Office had conducted a separate investigation into real estate transactions conducted by Manafort.

"I do not know anything about the summonses. But if someone reveals the details of a confidential investigation, this is a serious crime, "the newspaper quotes the representative of Manafort Jason Maloney.

As the "Observer" reported, in February the New York Times referring to four American officials reported that records of telephone conversations and intercepted calls allegedly indicate that members of the presidential campaign of Donald Trump had repeatedly contacted senior Russian intelligence officials in 2016 before the elections in USA.

According to the officials who spoke with the newspaper, Paul Manaforte - former head of Trump's campaign headquarters and ex-adviser to former Ukrainian leader Viktor Yanukovych - participated in the contacts..

Manafort himself denies this information. Other persons from Tramp's circle, presumably involved in contacts, are not called.
