Montenegro, Albania, Norway and Ukraine have joined the decision of the Council of the European Union to extend sanctions against the Russian Federation, reports Deutsche Welle.
The EU takes note of this decision and welcomes it, said EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Policy Federica Mogherini on Friday, May 5.
Recall, on March 13, the EU extended sanctions against Russia, which were introduced for violating the territorial integrity of Ukraine, for another six months. Sanctions were introduced against 150 individuals and 37 legal entities.
The restrictions introduced in March 2014 include the freezing of accounts, financial assets and a ban on entry into the countries of the European Union.
