French presidential candidate, centrist Emanuel Macron, if he wins the election, will not fully inherit the course of the current head of state Francois Hollande in relation to Russia.
This opinion was expressed in the commentary to the "Observer" by the diplomat, the head of the board of the State Enterprise "European Telecommunications of Ukraine" Vadim Trykhan.
"I would not say that Macron will automatically inherit the line of Francois Hollande. Obviously, Hollande became France's weakest president, at least in post-war history. And Macron is unprofitable to take on the negative, which remains after the cadenza of Hollande. Therefore, in my opinion, Makron will at least try to take a much more independent policy towards the Russian Federation, in comparison with some leaders of the European Union. This means that Macron has a chance to start from scratch.
We can witness the birth of a pragmatic and in some cases cynical policy of France in relation to the Putin regime, "said Trukhan.
According to him, around its policy, Macron will try to consolidate other EU states.
"And I think he will try to coordinate his course on the Russian direction, both with the US and with the UK," the diplomat summed up..
As reported by the "Observer", Makron made a harsh statement in relation to Russia.
