The White House is not sure of Moscow's sincerity about the resolution of the Syrian conflict.

This was told by the source of The Wall Street Journal, familiar with the details of a telephone conversation between US and Russian presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin on the eve.

The parties agreed that the US will send its representative to the talks on the Syrian issue, which will be held in Astana on May 3-4. Putin allegedly advocated the speedy restoration of peace in Syria, but Trump is not sure of the seriousness of these intentions.

The Kremlin press service after the conversation said that the presidents also discussed the possibility of a personal meeting during the G20 summit on July 7-8 in Hamburg, which the White House did not confirm in its message.

However, an American official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the publication that there had been no arrangements for a personal meeting.

According to him, the telephone conversation lasted about 30 minutes and was initiated by Putin. A breakthrough conversation did not bring, said the source.

Earlier it was reported that the meeting could take place during the G20 summit in German Hamburg on July 7-8.

As the "Observer" wrote, Putin said that he admits holding a meeting in the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana, without specifying the date.
