Today's incident with Aleksei Navalny I was caused by purely human emotions - a man was actually wounded because of his quite legal political activity. I am not a politician, and the maximum I can do is publicly express sympathy to him. Exactly the same way I will act if such an incident occurs with a communist, a referendum and even a member of "United Russia".

But what I paid attention to now, when after this regrettable incident several hours passed: no one from the public expressed solidarity with Navalny. "System" politicians. For some reason, there is no joint statement by Yabloko, PARNAS, Just Russia, the LDPR, the Communist Party, which would express to their irreconcilable rival Navalny purely human sympathy, would require the authorities to investigate and punish the perpetrators.

Especially I want to say about United Russia and its leader Dmitry Medvedev. I understand what emotions he has been experiencing all past weeks in relation to Navalny. It is obvious that the information campaign launched by FBK against the Prime Minister is very successful so far, even sociological surveys. But in this particular situation, Dmitry Anatolyevich could very well call Alexei Anatolyevich and tell him the words of sympathy, at the same time promising that he will take under his personal control the investigation of the incident.

I think that such a noble step taken in a truly competitive political system would be positively received by many "suddenly" skeptics about what Medvedev-politician is doing.

But this, of course, will not be. O tempora! O mores! (O times! O mores!).
