A special unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Macedonia late in the evening carried out an operation to release blocked deputies, the Interior Ministry.
"Employees of the special unit entered the parliament of the Republic of Macedonia and evacuated 30 deputies. In total, during the incident, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 10 policemen were injured, which prevented demonstrators from entering parliament. In Skopje, the operational headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, "the ministry said.
"Soldiers of the police special forces pulled out the deputies of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM) and the new chairman of the Talat Jafari assembly who were blocked in the press center since the demonstrators entered the parliament building," local media reported..
In the course of the brawl with the protesters, Zaev, Damian Manchevsky and the deputy-ethnic Albanian Ziyadin Sela received injuries.
About 200 people, among whom were masked men, on Thursday evening, April 27, broke into the building of the Macedonian Parliament in Skopje.
The reason for the riots was the nomination of the leader of the "Democratic Union for Integration", ethnic Albanian Talat Jaferi.
Protesters - supporters of former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevsky - say that the deputies from the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia are trying to illegally elect a new speaker and call their actions an attempt of coup d'etat.
