Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu canceled the meeting scheduled in Jerusalem with German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel due to the scandal with the settlements.

This is reported by Deutsche Welle.

In particular, the German foreign minister intended to hold a meeting with representatives of the Israeli civil society opposing the construction of Jewish settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.

At the same time, the Israeli prime minister stressed that he was against such initiatives and gave Gabriel an ultimatum - to meet with human rights defenders or with him.

In response, the German foreign minister said that canceling the meeting with Netanyahu would not be a disaster for him, and would not affect relations with Israel.

As reported by the "Observer", earlier in Israel they criticized the pro-Kremlin policy of Netanyahu.
