To date, Chechnya has been restrained from a new war only by personal relationships between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chechnya's leader Ramzan Kadyrov. However, this situation will not last forever.

This opinion was expressed by the Russian military expert Pavel Felgenhauer in an interview with "Echo of Moscow".

According to the expert, the new Chechen war is "in principle possible", since in Chechnya there are independent from Moscow very important armed forces, the so-called "Kadyrovtsi", who now act under the Russian flag.

"And Kadyrov himself is connected with Putin, so to speak, with personal devotion, which he emphasizes. It is based on personal ties between Putin and Kadyrov. If anything in this bundle turns out to be wrong, or one of the participants for some reason does not already perform the previous functions - we all walk under God - a very real clash is possible, a real war between the "Kadyrovites" and the federal forces, "he said..

Felgenhauer recalled that the so-called federal law enforcers and military do not like the "Kadyrovites", and they do not like them, so there are constant frictions.

"It is the personal relations between Kadyrov and Putin that deter the conflict from escalating. On this basis, long-term joint residence of Chechnya with independent armed forces within the Russian Federation is hardly possible, "the expert added..

As reported by the "Observer", in March in Chechnya, militants attacked the military unit of Rosgvardia, resulting in the death of six Russian soldiers.
