In France, at 8:00 am local time, polling stations opened for voting in the first round of presidential elections, Le Figaro.

To vote in the country, over 66,500 polling stations have been opened, which will be open until 19:00, an hour longer than their work in the last presidential election. And in large cities in France, polling stations will run until 20:00.

Vote in the first round of the presidential election will be 45.67 million French in the country itself and 1.3 million beyond its borders.



Earlier it was reported that the polls after the "big debate" that took place on the evening of April 4, unexpectedly showed that the left candidate Jean-Luc Melanchon was the most convincing on the air. Melanchone was able to win the support of 25% of the spectators of the debate, while Emmanuel Macron received 21% of the support.

As reported, the leader of the party "Forward" Emmanuel Macron was the best in the first pre-election debate in France, according to a poll conducted by Elabe company commissioned by the information channel BFMTV.
