When the passions on the UN court in The Hague have relaxed a little, I will say one unpopular thing.
No one in the world except us and Raisi did not react at all to yesterday's event. In our country, they interpreted it as a relative victory, the Mordor Ministry of Foreign Affairs turned everything upside down and treated it as an almost absolute victory.
Everything that is connected with such an organization as the UN has long been no longer concrete, not necessarily and in a conformist blurry. In addition, any of its decisions can be blocked, interpreted in its own way, or even wiped out by Moscow.
And you know, there are no effective mechanisms to change this situation, except to dissolve this fucking organization (how the League of Nations was dissolved in 1946) and create in its place a fundamentally new. But this is a completely different story.
Why should I. We really want to associate the sleepy-old court in The Hague with the Nuremberg trial, and we hope for the same consequences for the country of the aggressor. But, do not take into account that the Western world has long ago become another - a well-fed, emotionless falconry that wants to please everyone and reconcile all.
And in him wins the one who (bl. D, I quote the way. ) Beats first. Who alone launches Tomahawks on Russian bases in Syria, alone decides to "make" North Korea and single-handedly finishes Raissuu with sanctions and shale oil. And who on something there turned the United Nations, in which the efficiency of verbiage - 99%, and actions - 1%.
Therefore, I come to a very sad, but realistic conclusion: either a complete victory in court (which is doubtful), no defeat (and, most likely, some mediocre-conformist decision), we will not be given anything in particular, except for moral satisfaction - Moscow will put any verdict Upside down and will interpret in his own way. Or simply the Duma will abolish the Hague court as such.
And legal mechanisms to force it to carry out the decision simply are not present. Regular sanctions for ignoring the UN court? Again, only on the conclusion of the UN, and there the right of veto from the main criminal. Vicious circle.
As a summary, I repeat my main thesis: friendship with the US (whoever is in power), its own army, the European Union, NATO and the ditch with crocodiles in the east of the country. Everything else - casuistry and vanity of vanities. But! Everything will be fine!.
