President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky responded to the proposal of Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico to hold a meeting near the Slovak-Ukrainian border. Zelensky, in return, invited Fico to come to the capital of Ukraine this week.
" Come to Kyiv on Friday,” the President of Ukraine briefly replied on the social network X.
A few hours earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico issued an appeal to the President of Ukraine, in which he invited Vladimir Zelensky to a meeting to discuss the issue of stopping the transit of Russian gas through Ukrainian territory. According to Fico, the meeting could take place “preferably as soon as possible” on the territory of Slovakia near the state border with Ukraine.
Fico noted that he has a “different opinion” regarding this decision.
Let us recall that on December 27, Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico promised to stop reserve supplies of electricity to Ukraine if Kyiv refuses to continue the transit of Russian gas to Europe from January 1.
On December 28, President Vladimir Zelensky responded to threats from Robert Fico. He noted that the statements of the Slovak Prime Minister are a “second energy front”, which the authorities in Bratislava opened at the direction of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
