President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Andriy Melnyk from the post of Ukraine's ambassador to Germany. The head of state signed the relevant document today, July 9.

In addition, decrees were issued on the dismissal of four more Ukrainian ambassadors: Lyubov Nepop in Hungary, Vyacheslav Yatsyuk in Norway, Yevhen Perebiynos in the Czech Republic and Ihor Polekha, who represented Ukraine in a number of states - India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Shi Lanka and the Maldives.

Earlier, the German publication Bild reported that Melnyk could leave the post of Ambassador of Ukraine.. The publication was told about this by an unnamed representative of the Ukrainian government..



According to a Bild source, Melnik wants to take the position of Deputy Foreign Minister after eight years as ambassador to Germany..

Earlier, Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk said he was ready to apologize to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for earlier comparing him to an “offended liverwurst”.

Melnik was also linked to another scandal: in an interview, he said that " Then the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine was forced to make a statement that it did not share the position of Melnyk.
