Adviser to the Head of the Office of the President Mikhail Podolyak is convinced that Russia will in every possible way prevent the return home of Ukrainian citizens who were forcibly deported from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine or places of active hostilities, so their return will become another front for our state after the end of the active phase of the war.

“This is a difficult procedure that will require that there are intermediary countries or international institutions that will allow us to return people. I want to note that this will also be a war. After the war, there is a war to take our people back,” Mikhail Podolyak said on the air of the United News telethon..

In his opinion, Russia, which has a historical tradition and practice of the so-called resettlement of peoples in order to tear them away from their native land, will never admit that people were taken by force or that they were forced to do so by the conditions created by the Russians..

“They will not tell us objective information that, for example, out of 100,000 deported from Mariupol, Volnovakha and other regions of the Donetsk region, only 5% wanted to leave for the Russian Federation, and the rest were forcibly deported there,” said the adviser to the head of the Office of the Head of State.

According to Mikhail Podolyak, the Russians will continue to try to convince the world community that this migration was voluntary.

“From the point of view of propaganda, the Russians will lie to the whole world that they are looking - these people wanted to leave Ukraine for such a large and prosperous country, they feel comfortable living in Tomsk, and so on.. Comfortable in quotation marks,” he said..

“Ukrainians who lived in beautiful cities, had the opportunity to travel the world, build a career, study in good educational institutions, chose these ruined, useless and worthless cities of the Russian Federation as their place of residence? "

Regarding the possibility of returning deported citizens of Ukraine, Mykhailo Podolyak noted that, first of all, it would be necessary to study who, how and under what conditions were taken to Russia, who expressed their consent, and who was deported by force. After that, it is necessary to draw up legally verified lists, transfer them to the Russian side.

Mikhail Podolyak is convinced that these people should be visited by mediators or representatives of international organizations who will inspire confidence so that citizens can communicate openly with them and are not afraid to tell them that they want to return to their country.

“This is a whole legally verified procedure for us to take them back,” summed up the adviser to the head of the Office of the President.

As for the prospects for agreeing on humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of the civilian population from the city of Mariupol, which is under constant shelling by the invaders, the Ukrainian side is constantly in contact with the Russian side on this issue, but, unfortunately, Russia rejects or agrees on everything, and then does not keep its word.

“There was an attempt by a third party – Turkey, which tried to participate in taking people away from Mariupol. They wanted to do it through the waters of the Sea of \u200b\u200bAzov, other options were offered. But the Russians are not waging a war against us in terms of military operations - they are waging a genocidal type of war. They believe that it is okay to kill and not open the corridors to deliver medicines or food.. They use Syrian tactics, unfortunately,” he said and added that Russia is waging an inhumane war against civilians..

But Ukraine will continue to demand the opening of humanitarian corridors, a temporary ceasefire and the involvement of a third party as a guarantor or intermediary, Mikhail Podolyak said..

“The world is watching this war live, and it is not clear what reputation the Russian Federation is counting on. What do they want to get in a historical context? They will be called in the history books the Nazi state of the Russian Federation,” the adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine is convinced.
