Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Tried to convince him that the war should be stopped.

According to Politico, Schroeder's meeting with Putin took place after talks with Ukrainian MP Rustem Umerov, who is a member of the Ukrainian delegation to the peace talks with Russia..
