Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte opposed the idea of \u200b\u200bGerman Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron to invite Vladimir Putin to a summit with EU leaders, Dutch TV channel NOS reports..



Rutte said he was not against negotiations between the head of the European Council Charles Michel and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen with Putin. However, he himself is not going to participate in such a meeting because of the case of the crash of the Boeing MH17 over Donbas in 2014..

The summit with Vladimir Putin was also opposed by Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland..

Earlier, German Chancellor Angela Merkel called on the countries of the European Union to negotiate directly with the Russian president, as US leader Joe Biden did at the summit in Geneva..
