Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Anton Gerashchenko said this during a briefing.

“Millions of people today elect the local authorities and this is a very important process, which for the first time in history takes place under a new electoral code, which is quite complicated. In general, the elections are calm. The police are out of politics, they protect the law and the electoral right of citizens and do not interfere in the electoral process, "

The head of the National Police Igor Klimenko noted that the police are working as usual, and so far there are no egregious facts indicating that the elections will not take place or are difficult to pass.

“Now 2401 applications and reports on violation of electoral legislation have been registered. Most violations - Kiev, Kiev and Dnepropetrovsk regions. In the morning, 63 protocols of administrative violation were drawn up. The leaders in violation are - Poltava, Dnepropetrovsk, Kherson and Chernigov regions. Most of the messages under Article 41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses are damaging or destroying the bulletin, ”said Igor Klimenko.

“We have recorded several facts when citizens try to take out their ballots or damage them.. There are also facts when citizens tried to damage ballot boxes. In addition, 28 cases of filing cases in the ERDR. First of all, it is an obstacle to the exercise of electoral rights. For example, Sosnovka, Konotopsky district, Popovsky OTG, Sumskaya, where the illegal PEC worked, which printed its own ballots and conducted voting, "

The head of the National Police noted that during the day there were 8 reports of mining sites. All of them, after verification, turned out to be false..

Igor Klimenko separately emphasized that the police recorded and interfered with the facts when unknown persons distributed pens and antiseptics with the candidates' symbols in front of the police stations.

“As for the poll initiated by the President of Ukraine, it takes place outside the polling stations. In some cases, there is excitement and calls for violence. But I must say that no one has the right to threaten. The police do not play political games, we are exclusively on the side of the law. Therefore, I would ask citizens to comply with the law, "
