Hamas spokesman Latif al-Qanu said that a prerequisite for any agreements on the exchange of prisoners with Israel would be the release of all who were released under the Shalit’s deal, but were subsequently arrested.

The statement was timed to coincide with the sixth anniversary of the mass arrests following the abduction and murder of 16-year-old Gilad Shaer, 19-year-old Eyal Ifrah and 16-year-old Naftali Frenkel, by Hamas militants.

Among the 400 arrested there were about 50 terrorists from the number exchanged for Gilad Shalit, writes newsru. co. il.

" We call on the Egyptians to act as mediators to intervene and ensure that those released by agreement of 2011 are released again, "

Recall: Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit was kidnapped by Hamas militants on the border of the Gaza Strip in the summer of 2006. In October 2011, he was exchanged for 1,027 Palestinian militants, 400 of whom were serving life sentences.. Several dozen released subsequently were arrested again..
