President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko invites Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky to the republic and gives him an embroidered shirt. This was reported on the website of the Belarusian Embassy in Kiev.
On Tuesday, June 16, a meeting was held between the Ambassador of Belarus Igor Sokol and Igor Zhovkva, the deputy head of the office of the President of Ukraine. In particular, they discussed the prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres..
The ambassador extended an invitation for Zelensky from Lukashenko to pay an official visit to Belarus in 2020, as well as embroideries for the Ukrainian president and his wife. The gift was reciprocal: earlier Zelensky and his wife sent Ukrainian embroidered shirts to leaders of some countries, including Lukashenko.
In the message transmitted to Zelensky, Lukashenko noted that the Belarusian embroidered shirt “emphasizes the peculiarity, cultural interconnection, and closeness” of Ukrainians and Belarusians.
