The last journey was spent by the residents of Slavuta of the defender of Ukraine Sergey Tymoshchuk who died in the Lugansk region.
18-year-old youth Sergei Tymoshchuk began military service in the 80th separate airborne assault brigade DSHV. In June 2014, with the outbreak of Russian armed aggression against Ukraine, together with his unit, he went to the ATO area. He died in the battles for Lugansk international airport. After capturing the territory of the airport, the body of a soldier fell into the hands of the invaders. The young man was considered missing since August 31, 2014.
In February 2020, the remains of his body were transferred to the territory controlled by the Government of Ukraine, where they conducted a genetic examination and identified his identity using DNA, the Ministry of Defense news agency writes..

More than three hundred citizens came to say goodbye to Sergei Tymoshchuk. The soldier was buried in the city cemetery with all military honors. Sergey has a mother and two sisters.
