The National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting stated that in Ukraine it is necessary to create a Russian-language channel that would become an alternative for Russian television. This was told by a member of the National Council Sergei Kostinsky on the air of the program “PRIME: Forens” on the ATR channel, writes inforesist. org.

According to Kostinsky, a fully Russian-language channel should broadcast on ATR for residents of Western countries and Russia. He noted that there are many people speaking Russian, all over the world and they need to be informed about what is happening in Ukraine.

Kostinsky explained this by the fact that people in Germany, Canada or Russia are watching Russian television, Ukraine now has no alternative for them.

He also added that the Ukrainian view of world events should be presented on this channel..

For his part, Minister of Culture Vladimir Borodyansky said that in February Ukrainian television broadcasting will be launched in 80% of the occupied territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

Borodyansky clarified that a special infotainment state television channel will be created on the basis of UATV broadcasting. The channel will combine the best Ukrainian entertainment programs and state information broadcasting. At the same time, it will broadcast both in Ukrainian and in Russian.
