If Europe puts pressure on Iran over a nuclear deal, Tehran will revise its cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This was stated by the chairman of the Iranian parliament (Majlis) Ali Ardashir Larijani at a meeting on Sunday, January 19. According to him, quoted by the IRNA news agency, a corresponding proposal has already been prepared in the Majlis, DW writes.. If European countries behave " He did not name the details. IAEA experts conduct verification of Iran’s nuclear facilities to monitor its compliance with the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA), agreed in 2015 with Russia, Germany, France, Great Britain, China and the USA. The head of the Iranian parliament, in particular, expressed regret over the intention of the FRG, France and the UK to use the dispute resolution mechanism provided for by the JCPOA. It involves the creation of a special commission in the event that one of the parties to the agreement violates it. If the dispute is not resolved within 15 days, then UN sanctions may follow.

Germany, France and the United Kingdom resorted to this mechanism after Iran announced in early January that it would abandon its obligations to limit the amount of enriched uranium, as well as the number and models of centrifuges. Iran began phasing out refusal to comply with the terms of the nuclear deal after Washington withdrew from the agreement in spring 2018 and began to tighten sanctions against Tehran. At the same time, Iran continues to cooperate with the IAEA and assures that it is ready to return to fulfill all obligations if sanctions are lifted from the country and its interests are taken into account.. Other parties to the agreement favor its preservation..
