Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that in Ukraine, the Baltic countries and other states, Russians are "intimidated and terrorized".

He told about this at the World Congress of Russian Compatriots in Moscow.

"The history is being rewritten, the fight with monuments and the Russian language is being waged, people are intimidated and simply terrorized, the natural desire of every person to preserve their national roots is declared a crime, separatism. The right to freedom of speech, to preserve their traditions is grossly violated, "- said Putin.

According to him, for some Russians “prohibitions on professions are imposed for political reasons”.

The Russian president promised to "decisively protect your rights and interests" of those who feel the "consequences of such severe pressure".

"The situation in the world is not simple, tensions and unpredictability are increasing, the foundations of international law are being undermined, long-term agreements between states are crumbling. Russophobia, unfortunately, other forms of extreme aggressive nationalism are also used, "local media quotes Putin..
