UN urged Russia to abandon provocations in the Sea of ??Azov

UN notes negative impact of tension in the Sea of ??Azov on regional security.

This was stated during the UN Security Council hearings on the situation in the occupied areas in the east of Ukraine by the UN Deputy Secretary General for Political Affairs Rosemary Dicarlo, according to Ukrinform.

"The UN monitors information on the growth of tension in the Sea of ??Azov, which negatively affects the general atmosphere in the region. We emphasize the need to avoid the risk of escalation, provocation and miscalculation, "said DiCarlo.

She urged all parties to fully comply with the Minsk agreements..



"The Minsk agreements, supported by the Security Council, form a single agreed framework for peace negotiations in Eastern Ukraine. According to the expectations of the Security Council, the UN calls for rapid progress in the embodied Minsk agreements ", - said the Deputy UN Secretary General.

Dicarlo added that the UN also calls on all parties to "avoid any unilateral steps that could deepen the section or distance the spirit and letter of the Minsk agreements".
