Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny on Sunday, October 14, was released after an administrative arrest, reports DW. In the special detention center of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs No.

1, he first served 30 days for organizing the January meetings, after which he would be immediately detained and sentenced by the court to another 20 days of arrest for a rally against pension reform on September 9.

Navalny was greeted by journalists and several employees of his staff. He thanked everyone who supported him and said hello to those who are still in the regions under arrest..

“During the 50 days I’m sitting here, we saw a lot of evidence that this regime was completely degraded - from failures in foreign intelligence to failures in the space industry,” Navalny told journalists.
