The Insider and Bellingcat found out the real name of “Alexey Petrov” (one of the couple in Salisbury who are in the Skripale case) is an officer of the GRU, military doctor Alexander Mishkin.

According to researchers, the military doctor Alexander E. Mishkin serves in the General Directorate of the General Staff (in the past GRU). Bellingcat also publishes a photo of Mishkin's passport, the photo shows a person very similar to the suspect "Alexander Petrov", who, under this name, gave an interview to the "rashatudey" channel.

According to these data, Alexander Mishkin was born on July 13, 1979 in the village of Loyga in the Arkhangelsk Region, he studied at the prestigious military medical academy, and during his training he received an offer to join military intelligence service.. In 2011–2018, Mishkin traveled under the name of Petrov and visited Ukraine and Transnistria - including during Euromaidan in December 2013.

Until September 2014, Mishkin was registered in Moscow at Khoroshevskoe Highway 76B - this is the address of the headquarters of the GRU.
