Citizens of Ukraine do not commit a crime if they do not report that they also have a passport of another country.

This was stated by the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Tamas Menzer, said in a statement on the website of the Government of Hungary.

Thus, Mentzer commented on the outrage of Kiev, due to the fact that the Hungarian consuls provide citizenship to Ukrainians and instruct them how to hide their Hungarian passports and how to manipulate documents at the border.

"Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Peter Siyarto, met with his Ukrainian counterpart on Wednesday in New York at the high-level meeting of the 73rd United Nations General Assembly. At the meeting, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister admitted that there is no law in Ukraine prohibiting citizens from having a passport from another country.

In addition, the law does not prohibit the provision of a passport of another country, and it is not a crime when someone did not report that he also has a passport of another country, "Menzer said..

Mentzer added that "a few days ago, the head of Transcarpathia declared that at least half of the members of the Ukrainian parliament are dual citizens, and accordingly an attack on the Hungarians is unacceptable".

Budapest repeated his threat: if Ukraine sends a Hungarian consul to Beregovo, Budapest will send a Ukrainian consul.
