South Korean President Mun Zhe Ying and Chairman of the State Council of the DPRK Kim Jong-un held a first round of bilateral talks in Pyongyang on Tuesday, the main theme of which is the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

As noted, the third since the beginning of the year, the inter-Korean summit began at 15:45 local time in the building of the Central Committee of the TPK. Mun Zhe Ying became the first foreign guest whom the North Korean leader accepts in this room.

The talks were also attended by the head of the national security department of the presidential administration of RK Chon Yi Yong and the director of the National Intelligence Service So Hong. The North Korean side, together with Kim Jong-un, was represented by the head of the united front department of the Central Committee of the WPK Kim Yong Chol and the sister of the leader of the DPRK, deputy head of the international department of the WPK Central Committee Kim Joon.

The return of the South Korean leader to Seoul is scheduled for the first half of the day on Thursday.

President RK Mun Zhe Ying arrived in Pyongyang at 9:49 am on Tuesday, September 18.

As you know, the first two meetings of the leaders of South Korea and North Korea took place in the demilitarized zone of the border village of Panmunjom in April and May 2018. On April 27, Moon and Kim agreed on complete nuclear disarmament on the Korean peninsula, as well as on the official end of the state of war in which both countries were from the early 1950s.
