In the event of a return to politics, the leader of the rock group "Ocean Elzi" Svyatoslav Vakarchuk has a good chance of becoming the new president of Ukraine, according to an article in the American edition of The New York Times.

The publication notes that the 43-year-old musician, who was an active participant in the Maydan-2004 and Euromaidan-2014, has "unquestionable political influence".

A number of his songs have become hymns of national protests in Ukraine. The army of his fans numbers millions, and concerts take place at the country's largest stadiums.

Vakarchuk himself calls questions about his return to politics provocative, stating that he simply "seeks to make his country better".

At the same time, the singer notes that he is attracted by the political system, "at the top of the pyramid is an ordinary person".

In addition, Vakarchuk stands for the creation in Ukraine of a strong army and law enforcement system based on the rule of law.

The publication believes that the leader of the "Ocean Elzy" who studied political science at Stanford University, can become a "new face" in the fight against Russian aggression in the Donbass.

In this issue, Vakarchuk is a supporter of the "policy of magnetism", through which the prosperous FRG was reunited with the socialist GDR.

I am convinced that the key lies in the internal state of affairs. The more predictable, strong, cohesive and rich we will be, the less likely that we will be harmed by someone from outside.
