On September 4, the Kiev district court of Simferopol, controlled by the Kremlin, arrested Marlen Mustafayev, a Crimean Tatar activist for 12 days, who was searched by Russian security officials. According to investigators, Mustafayev in August 2014 published on his Facebook page a post with the symbols of the organization "Hizb ut-Tahrir", which was recognized illegal in Russia and annexed by the Crimea.

September 4, 2017 in the Kamenka neighborhood near Simferopol in the house of the activist Marlen Mustafayev was also searched.

In February 2017, Mustafayev's house was already searched in the case of the demonstration of "extremist symbols". Siloviki seized Mustafaeva computer equipment and several books. It came to support ten people who filmed what was happening on video and broadcast the actions of law enforcers in social networks. All these people were detained.



Later, Mustafayev was arrested for 11 days, his comrades-in-arms - five on charges of "propaganda or public demonstration of the attributes or symbols of extremist organizations" (Part 1 of Article 20. 3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Russia)?. The activist left arrest March 4, 2017.

After annexation in the Crimea, the actual Russian authorities practice mass searches of independent journalists, civil activists, activists of the Crimean Tatar National Movement, members of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, and Crimean Muslims suspected of links to the banned Hizb ut-Tahrir organization in Russia.
