Ukraine won in the High Court of London an appeal on the "debt of Yanukovych" to Russia for 3 billion dollars.

Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that Russia will appeal this decision to the Supreme Court of England. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

In 2013, Russia bought Ukrainian Eurobonds for 3 billion dollars in non-market conditions - with a coupon rate of 5% per annum. Ukraine serviced the debt before the end of 2015, but then declared a default on bonds.

The Finance Ministry filed a lawsuit in the London court, which won in March 2017. The court ordered Ukraine to pay to Russia the face value of the bonds - $ 3 billion, another $ 75 million unrealized coupon payment, as well as penalty interest. Later, Kyiv appealed this decision to the Court of Appeal.
