On Friday, August 24, during the military parade to the Independence Day, four brigades of the Ukrainian army will receive new names.
They resorted to renaming to eradicate the echo of sovietization from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Besides, they are sure that something native and connected with the history of Ukraine strengthens the morale of the defenders on the battlefield, specifies Channel 24.
Therefore this year new names will be received:
55 artillery brigade, since it is based in Zaporozhye, it will be called henceforth "Zaporizhzhya Sich"; 56 the motorized infantry brigade will become Mariupol; The 3rd regiment of special purpose will bear the name of Svyatoslav the Brave; and the 93 brigade - "Cold Yar".
During the solemn parade on August 24, the units will receive new combat banners. In addition, during the celebrations on Khreshchatyk, Ukrainian troops will first greet the slogan "Glory to Ukraine".
