Volchansk department of the Chuguevskiy local prosecutor's office of the Kharkov region sent an indictment against the doctor of the central rayon hospital. 1 st. 140 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (improper performance of their professional duties by a medical employee due to negligent and unfair attitude towards them, which resulted in serious consequences for the patient).

As the first deputy head of the Chuguevskoy local prosecutor's office, Ivan Yen, said the incident happened in November 2015. The 52-year-old doctor was on duty at the emergency department of the CRH, when a 66-year-old woman. The medical officer diagnosed her with right-sided pneumonia, ischemic heart disease and angina and prescribed treatment.

However, the next day the patient died. As it turned out during the investigation, the cause of the death of a woman was an acute myocardial infarction.

According to the results of the examinations, including the data of electrocardiograms made in the first hours after the treatment of the patient to the hospital, it turned out that the doctor on duty gave an incorrect diagnosis to the woman, because of what she did not receive proper medical care and subsequently died.

The sanction of the article provides for the deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to five years, or correctional labor for up to two years, or restriction of freedom for up to two years, or imprisonment for the same period.
