Minister for Jerusalem Affairs and Environmental Protection of the State of Israel and Co-Chairman of the Interstate Joint Ukrainian-Israeli Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Israel and Ukraine Zeev Elkin visited his small homeland - Kharkov, the city where he was born and grew up.

During the visit, a high-ranking statesman of Israel held a meeting with the deputy chairman of the local Regional State Administration Mark Becker.

As the press service of HOGA notes, the parties discussed the cooperation of the Kharkov region with Israel, as well as using the experience of this country in many areas.

Zeev Elkin noted the positive dynamics in the relations between our countries and the Kharkov region, in particular.

"I think that Kharkiv has a great potential for developing relations in all the areas mentioned. It is important to continue cultural cooperation. The cultural center of Israel functions in Kharkov, for which I am grateful to the leadership of the region and the city. In Israel, too, many immigrants from the Kharkov region, which creates an additional platform for cooperation, "- said Zeev Elkin.

In turn, the deputy chairman of the HGA informed Zeev Elkin of the socio-economic indicators of the region, the foreign trade turnover of the Kharkiv region with Israel, which last year grew by 6.3% to $ 13.3 million. The same dynamics in the economic cooperation of the parties is observed this year, they assure KHOGA.

"At the same time Kharkov manufacturers need high technologies that are developed in Israel.

For example, some of our enterprises are considering the proposals of the Israeli side for the installation of dairy processing facilities. I also consider promising cooperation in the field of household waste disposal, "Mark Becker said during the meeting.

In addition, the first deputy chairman of the HOGA noted the importance of cultural ties between the Kharkov region and Israel, the development of relations in the field of IT technology, economics, education and medicine.
