The Kharkiv regional military registration and enlistment office summed up the results of work in the first half of 2018 to select candidates for military service under a contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"This year, about 1,000 residents of the Kharkiv region have joined the ranks of contract soldiers. These positive indicators are a common victory for all district military registration and enlistment offices. This was promoted by hundreds of publications about the Ukrainian army in the local press, dozens of job fairs, which we conducted jointly with employment centers in the whole region, as well as understanding the importance of replenishing our troops with professional soldiers, "said the military commissar of the Kharkiv regional military commissariat, Colonel Yuri Kalgushkin.
According to the officer, it has long ago become the norm that every Wednesday at military registration and enlistment offices carry out various information and explanatory measures, which are often invited representatives of military units. The words of the best warriors with respectable years of service and awards on their chests are considered by the military to be better than, for example, watching commercials.
"Approximately every third or fourth conscript-draftee, who this year voluntarily sent us to the Ukrainian army, had the status of a combatant. Also among the recruits was a lot of real romantics.
So, more than 150 Kharkiv residents expressed their desire to serve in the assault and assault troops in January-June, and about 30 more people decided to wear the beret of a Marine, "explained Colonel Yuri Kalgushkin.
In the military registration and enlistment offices located in the Kharkov region, for the fourth year in a row, a large number of girls are wishing to associate their profession with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. By this time already more than 50 representatives of the fair sex signed an army contract, and 30 more people collect the necessary documents for the draft or while they are determined with the election of the military profession.
