Kharkiv schoolchildren won the International Mathematical Olympiad in Romania

The team of Ukraine, which included 4 Kharkovites, won 4 gold and 2 silver medals.

This brought the team of Ukraine fourth team place. This result is the best for the national team for all the years of Ukraine's independence.

"The 59th International Mathematical Olympiad took place from 3 to 14 July in Cluj-Napoca (Romania). In these prestigious student's mathematical competitions 594 schoolchildren from 107 countries of the world took part, - the HOGA Department of Science and Education. - The team of Ukraine consisted of six people, including 4 students - from the city of Kharkov. All Kharkiv citizens received high awards ".

Among the awarded:.

- Ngo Ngoc Thi Shon and Roman Sarapin - students of the KU "Kharkov Physics and Mathematics Lyceum No. 27 of the Kharkov City Council of the Kharkov Region" (gold medals);.



- Ilya Koval is a student of the Kharkov Training and Educational Complex №45 "Academic Gymnasium" of the Kharkiv City Council of the Kharkov Region (gold medal);.

- Alina Garbuzova - student of the KU "Kharkov Physics and Mathematics Lyceum № 27 Kharkiv City Council of the Kharkov region" (silver medal).
