US missile destroyer USS Porter DDG 78 went to the port of Odessa this morning. At 10:30 he moored at the 16th berth of the marina, reports "Dumskaya".

The pilot boarded aboard the ship at about 9:15 am, after which the destroyer under his direction headed for the Voro. Two tugs carefully conducted the American to the pier, and then very carefully, centimeter by centimeter, turned the machine "Porter" to the wall. In total, this procedure took about half an hour.

Immediately struck a large number of girls in the carriage. They perform any work on an equal basis with men. For example, of the eight members of the mooring crew pulling a heavy rope, three were women.

At the time of mooring, a patrol from the servicemen of the anti-sabotage detachment of the Ukrainian Navy was on duty at the seaport, who not only forbade photographing the destroyer, but even shut the lenses with journalists. The senior attorney said that he had received the appropriate order. It's strange, but if such secrecy, why then did Porter put it on the sea terminal and not hide it in one of the closed harbors of the port?.

The ship will take part in the annual Sea Breeze naval exercises. Let's notice, that some months ago "Porter" carried out the military assignment in Mediterranean sea: from its board launches of cruise missiles "Tomahawk" on objects of the Syrian infrastructure.

The USS destroyer "Porter" (DDG-78) - 28th ship of the Arleigh Burke class ("Arleigh Burke") of the US Navy. The main armament of the destroyer is 90 missile launchers, in which anti-aircraft and anti-submarine missiles can be deployed, as well as Tomahawk cruise missiles. The ship's armament is controlled by the Aegis system. In 2013, the ship was upgraded, now it is capable of carrying SM-3 missiles, designed to combat ballistic missiles and satellites in near-earth orbit.

The destroyer is named after the famous American dynasty of naval officers, in particular Commander (Captain 2nd Rank) David Porter and his son, Admiral David Dixon Porter. The first showed itself during the Anglo-American War of 1812, the second was the superintendent of the US Naval Academy (Annapolis) during the Civil War of 1861-1865.
