Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko signed an order that regulates the execution by commanders of all levels of the Office of the Implementation of the Law of Ukraine "On the condemnation of the communist and national-socialist (nazi) totalitarian regimes in Ukraine and the prohibition of their symbols".

About this Muzhenko reported on his Facebook page, promulgating a copy of the document.

The Chief of the General Staff of the Supreme Council of Ukraine noted that the appropriation of the names of Ukrainian cities by parts of the Russian army does not affect the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which have their own military-historical traditions.

"By their decisions, Russians continue their long tradition - stealing someone else's history and glory. This is marking the territory and voicing claims for the lands of other peoples, to which Russia has nothing to do. This is a clear signal to us and the world that the aggressor is not going to stop in the Donbass and in the Crimea.

It is also aimed at mobilizing pro-Russian forces on the territory of Ukraine, "Muzhenko said..

He stressed that the traditions of the modern Russian army are a mixture of Russian-imperial and Soviet myths, and for the Supreme Armed Forces the realization of this was 2014, when each soldier made his choice.

Earlier it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin conferred on the three regiments of the Russian army the names of Lviv, Zhytomyr and Nezhin.
