The Defense Ministry and the military administration bodies employ 6,500 civil servants, about 500 of whom are participants in military operations. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak at the solemn event in the Defense Ministry on the occasion of the Day of Civil Service.

"About 500 civil servants and employees of the military department are participants in military operations, including 370 - participants in the antiterrorist operation and operations of the combined forces," the minister specified..

He added that 55 state employees were awarded state awards and more than 850 - departmental awards.
