On the evening of June 18, an event dedicated to Russia's recognition of East Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian state was to take place at the Ambassador Hotel in Jerusalem. At the event, along with the staff of the Russian embassy, ??there were Arab Knesset members, representatives of various Palestinian organizations.

However, shortly after the start of the event, the Chief of Police of the Jerusalem District, Joram Halevi, signed a decree banning it. The press service of law enforcement agencies said that the ban was issued after it became known that the organization of the event involved the Democratic Front and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, recognized by Israel as terrorist organizations.

The report says that the event was prohibited on the basis of paragraph 69 of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2016.

Police officers arrived at the hotel when the event was already underway. They interrupted the speech of Knesset member Ayman Uda, who thanked Russia for recognizing East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine. Note that the 10th channel reported that the meeting was conducted by the Russian Embassy.
