Parliament during the current session, that is, until July 13, will adopt bill No. 5395-d, which allows units of the State Bureau of Investigation (GDB) to engage in operational search activities. Such a forecast was made by the secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement Activity, People's Deputy of the National Assembly Anton Gerashchenko during the meeting of the parliamentary-civil platform.

The online broadcast was conducted by the TV channel "112 Ukraine". The meeting was devoted to the theme "Law enforcement: competencies, delineation of powers and synergy".

"Regarding the situation with the improvement of the law on the GBR, at the time of its adoption, as is often the case in our country - it was exactly on paper, but forgot about ravines. In this law, there are really not some issues, for example, payments to employees of operational units, there are no issues on the regulation of regulatory-operative-investigative activities, so the law 5395-d should solve this issue. I think that we will take it in some form or another at the following plenary weeks. This will be before the end of this session of BP, "said Gerashchenko.

According to him, the creation of the State Bureau of Investigation is not the final issue on the way of reforming the system of law enforcement bodies of Ukraine.

Recall, about a month ago the Verkhovna Rada supported as a basis the bill No. 5395-d, which should unlock a set of operatives in the State Bureau of Investigation. At its meeting on June 6, the Committee recommended that the parliament adopt the document in the second reading and in general as a law.
