Terrorists from Gaza on Monday, May 28, opened fire on Israeli territory from a large-caliber machine gun. Several buildings and cars were damaged. No reports of victims were received.

The bombardment was preceded by the siren of the air alarm "Tseva hell", which worked at 19:50 in Sderot and the settlements of the regional council of Shaar Ha-Negev, Vesti writes.

Terrorists from Gaza and earlier fired Sderot from large-caliber machine guns. So, on Wednesday, May 16, as a result of fire from heavy firearms, damage was caused to four residential buildings, including the house of the former mayor of the city. Only by a lucky chance there were no victims.

The former mayor of Sderot Eli Moyal was also at the moment of shelling at home. "I was at home and suddenly heard a terrible noise. It was scary. I thought something had fallen.. I went out into the yard and saw there splinters of bullets ".

As previously reported, the IDF cut off on Monday, May 25, an attempt to break the border, undertaken by two armed terrorists in the northern part of the Gaza Strip. In response to the enclave, a tank volley was fired.

It was reported that the terrorists opened fire in the direction of servicemen, there were no casualties. Both border violators were detained.

The press service of the IDF said that the militants tried to infiltrate Israeli territory to commit sabotage. During the search they were confiscated knives, metal scissors to damage the obstacles and a container with fuel.

The army noted that the detention of terrorists testifies to the operational success of the IDF. Unlike the two previous incidents last week, during which terrorists managed to slip back to Gaza, this time the Golani and the 7th Armored Battalion carried out an exemplary operation and took offenders while trying to cross the border.

The IDF tanks also gave a shutdown volley at the terrorist observation post in Beit Lahia. According to Palestinian sources, one Palestinian was killed, another injured.

The leadership of Hamas reported that the killed gunman belonged to the military wing of this grouping.

The day before, the IDF also opened a tank fire in the Gaza Strip - at an observation post located in the southern part of the enclave. The Palestinians first reported on the two killed, and then increased the number of losses by half.

The IDF press service, responding to this incident, explained that the blow was followed in response to the diversion of terrorists who had placed an explosive charge near the border fence.
