Deputies considered 1273 amendments from 1927 to the bill "On the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court". Speaker of the Parliament Andrei Parubiy closed the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada. Consideration of the bill will continue on Tuesday, June 5.

"We went through more than a thousand amendments during the day," said Parubiy. At the same time he suggested that most likely voting by law will be held on Thursday morning, June 7.

Recall that the parliament began to consider the presidential bill number 7440 on Wednesday, May 23. Parubius proposed to consider amendments that relate to the powers of international experts, at the very end. "And I have a suggestion that we will consider these positions where there is no consent, we considered in conclusion, before the vote, that we first went through all agreed positions and had the opportunity and time to coordinate during the examination," the speaker said..

On Tuesday, Parubius said that four rounds of talks with the IMF were held and 13 of the 14 recommendations of the Venice Commission were agreed upon. According to him, the powers of the anti-corruption court will only apply to the affairs of NABU and SAP. The issue of the placement of the court in Kiev was also resolved. In addition, judges will receive protection from state pressure. The bill reduced the requirements for judges, he said.. "There is one, but extremely important position, the authority of the public council of international experts," Parubiy said..

At the same time, the IMF insists on the decisive role of the public council in the work of the anticorruption court.

"It is very important that the public council, composed of independent experts with extensive and recognized experience in the fight against corruption, be given a decisive role in certifying that the candidates for judges of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court have the necessary qualifications for passing judgments on corruption cases," said the Permanent Representative IMF in Kiev Yosta Lungman.
