The Security Service of Ukraine declares that Russia is preparing for a possible powerful cyber attack on Ukrainian state structures on the eve of the UEFA Champions League final in Kiev. This is stated in a press release by the SBU.

So, specialists in cybersecurity of the SBU are studying the next possible wave of mass destruction of network devices located in Ukraine.

Malicious software that can be used by hackers, received the conditional name VPNFilter.

Also in the SBU say that such attacks were recorded around the world since 2016. According to the information received, this time the geographic focus of the attack is directed to the Ukrainian segment of the Internet.

The conclusions of the forensic study show that the VPNFilter virus software allows attackers to intercept all traffic passing through the affected device (including authorization data and personal data of payment systems), collect and download information, remotely control the infected device and even disable it.
