Ministry of Internal Affairs proposes to double the fines for violation of fire safety

Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine calls for toughening responsibility for violations in the sphere of civil protection, technogenic and fire safety. In particular, the Ministry of Internal Affairs proposes to double the amount of fines for entrepreneurs, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said..

So, for violation of fire safety requirements for citizens, it is proposed to establish a fine of 30 to 50 non-taxable minimums, and for officials and individual entrepreneurs - from 50 to 100 non-taxable minimums.

Currently, the maximum penalty imposed on the offender is 170 UAH.

It is noted that the relevant changes to the Code of Administrative Offenses and the Criminal Code adopted on Wednesday, April 25, at a government meeting and sent to the Verkhovna Rada.



So, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Emergency Situations Ministry will draft a bill "On Amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses and the Criminal Code of Ukraine on strengthening responsibility in the field of civil protection, technogenic and fire safety".

The ministry also noted that over the past five years in Ukraine there were about 353 thousand. fires, which killed more than 11 thousand people. Direct losses from fires amounted to almost six billion hryvnia.
