The Chief Military Prosecutor of Ukraine Anatoly Matios said in an interview with 112 Ukraine that he filed a lawsuit against the head of the General Staff Viktor Muzhenko because of restrictions on the powers of military prosecutors.

He explained that on the instructions of the head of the General Staff, military prosecutors are allowed in part only for investigative actions and on a written one-time pass, Gordon writes.

"I have been thinking for a long time whether to start a line of bureaucratic correspondence that does not lead to anything and decided that the law gives me the right and filed a lawsuit to the court, which should put the point and decide the lawful actions of the leadership of the General Staff or not legitimate," said Matios.

He added that last year, thanks to the work of military prosecutors in military units, 630 people were brought to administrative responsibility in the form of guard detachment - 1,300 servicemen.

"Right now, we need written permission from the leadership, which is not exactly interested in removing garbage from our own home," said Matios.

October 28, 2017 Matios said that Muzhenko forbade the military prosecutors to enter the territory of military units after the explosions in Kalinovka.
