The Verkhovna Rada plans to allow men and women to serve in the army until they reach the age limit of serving in the army (45-60 years). The parliamentarians passed 230 votes in the first reading the corresponding bill, reports UNN.
The bill proposes to give both sexes equal opportunities to enter into a contract for military service, determining that women can enter into a contract for military service until they reach the age limit for military service.
The commanders of military units are also given the right to appeal to the Security Service of Ukraine to verify information about involvement in actions aimed at violent change or overthrow of the constitutional order or encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine by sending relevant inquiries.
In the event that information on the citizen's involvement in actions aimed at the violent alteration or overthrow of the constitutional order or encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, or failure to provide written consent for carrying out such an inspection is established on the basis of the audit results, he is not subject to military service.
