The last Rubicon is passed, and now there is no longer any need to talk about a liberal, democratic or any constructive opposition. Yeltsin left behind a fairly even political environment in which all political forces had sufficient resources to maintain balance and power struggles. Each turn of the formation of Putinism could meet an impregnable line from the political power that the Kremlin was cleaning, wrote on the Observer Russian politician Natalia Gulevskaya.
In 2003-2004 year. , when the Chekists returned to the tactics they had developed and undertook the seizure of "mail, telegraph and railway stations," and 100 years later it looked a little different, in seizing the media, television, energy resources and. The main obstacle in the way of the Lubyanka was the liberals. It was the starry hour of the liberals, they had enough financial and information resources in their hands, and they could give a tangible battle to the Cheka. But alas, they not only could not act as a common front, but also lost their positions in all branches of power.
The next round of confrontation with Chekism remained on the conscience of the Democrats. In 2007-2008. they were able to unite and not allow the party of power to draw a constitutional majority to prevent the return of Putin to the highest echelons of power. But again, if Yabloko still held on to its positions, the Union of Right Forces lost its elections in parliament ineptly, and then dissolved into the structures of the ruling power, sitting in ministerial and governor's chairs or replenishing various presidential councils.
2011-2012. this was the last opportunity for any opposition to unite and not to let Chekism to absolute power. Democrats, leftists, nationalists and other patriotic forces could unite in a social-democratic unifying force and not allow Putin to return to power. But the Chekists conducted a brilliant special operation in the form of "castling" and removed the last barrier to permissiveness and impunity.
But the overwhelming triumph rendered them "a disservice", and after a couple of years, having lost the sense of reality, the Chekists made irreparable mistakes in the form of annexation, aggression and got involved in conflicts around the world. The West did not flinch and dealt a crushing blow to the Putin regime in the form of personal and sectoral sanctions.
2016-2018 g. became for the Kremlin and Lubyanka the most difficult test for the entire period of Putin's rule, the Chekists had to struggle within themselves, against their own accomplices and accomplices in the cutting and appropriation of natural resources and financial assets of Russia. Putin won, but the victory turned out to be a pavor, because the next force that will now resist Chekism has no clearly defined criteria and at least some organization. This is anarchy, lynchings and the energy of the crowd, where neither Navalny, Sobchak, nor other puppets of the Kremlin and Lubyanka.
This political period is still not given a clear definition because of the impossibility of classifying its criteria, and if in Volokolamsk and Kemerovo authorities somehow managed to slip through the razor's edge, then the first physical crackdown of a distraught people over officials, civil servants or officials will be the beginning of the end of Putin's vertical and will grow into a chain reaction throughout Russia.
Unfortunately, the point of no return is passed, and in the world there is not a single mechanism to return the status quo even for a couple of turns back for Putin's Russia.
