The European Union promises to continue to cooperate with Turkey in the framework of the migration treaty. Brussels also plans to limit the number of visas issued for countries that refuse to accept their citizens who have not been granted refugee status in the EU.
European Commissioner for Migration Dimitris Avramopoulos said that the bloc will allocate another three billion euros for projects to help Syrian refugees in Turkey. He also called for avoiding "unnecessary" confrontation after Turkey arrested two Greek border guards on its territory for illegally crossing the border. Greece claims that they have lost their way of patrolling.
